Welcome and thank you for visiting our web site and taking an interest in Casa Hogar Cabo San Lucas.

Casa Hogar was started by two respected families in Cabo San Lucas over 15 years ago whose dream was to create a safe environment for abused and neglected children in the Cabo San Lucas area.  They advanced with the project as far as acquiring a one-hectare plot of land and completing the construction to the point of an "obra negra" (basic block structure).

For various reasons the project stalled and the structure sat vacant for many years.  In 2005, the project was brought to the Rotary Club of Cabo San Lucas with the request that they take charge of the completion and operation of Casa Hogar.

The Rotary Club does not itself run charitable organizations, however, a number of its members decided to become part of an "asociación civil", or non-profit organization in order to revive this project.  As interest and support for the project grew, donations started to roll in, the largest coming from a Rotarian in Boulder City, Nevada who pledged to financially support the completion of the construction of Casa Hogar.

The structure was completed in 2007 and partially furnished.  The first boy moved in on February 6, 2008.  Casa Hogar is currently home to 22 boys ranging in age from 6 to 14 living at Casa Hogar.  However, there is still a great deal to be done.  The facility has the potential to provide a safe, clean, nurturing home for 60 children who would not have one otherwise.

Casa Hogar subsists completely on charitable donations.  We hope that what you see on our website will inspire you to get involved and help us to make Casa Hogar all that it can be.  Help us make better lives.

 Thank you
